"I think our offense started moving more, it opened gaps for the post players," [Lavender] said. "In the first half we weren't moving the ball enough. The ball wasn't getting reversed for the post players to flash into open areas."

"Our guards started to box out," coach Jim Foster said. "There's a tendency, and it's a bad habit to have. A lot of these teams are rebounding by committee and we have a very, very good rebounder [Lavender]. There's a tendency to stand around let your very, very good rebounder do all the work. When the other teams want to rebound by committee and your guards aren't putting a body on somebody the numbers will be like they were in the first half."
