Through new efforts that include direct recruiting of minority job candidates, and an adjustment of short-term hiring goals, state Transportation Cabinet officials on Thursday outlined a plan to increase the number of minority employees working in the agency.
The cabinet's affirmative action plan -- which the federal government approved Monday -- consists of a partnership between state government and Kentucky State University to recruit and develop minority candidates while they're still in school, acting Transportation Secretary Bill Nighbert said.See the full content of this document
