Research has proven that each year more than 13, 000 children are diagnosed with type one diabetes. There are even cases in which teens have been diagnosed with type two diabetes, which is a disease commonly found in people over the age of forty.
Moreover, children who are obese and have a family history of type two diabetes are particularly at high risk to generate the disease diabetes, especially children of African American origin. Diabetes is a chronic disease in which the body does not make or properly use insulin, a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches, and other food into energy. People with diabetes have increased blood glucose or sugar levels due to a lack of insulin, insufficient insulin, or resistance's to insulin's effects. High levels of glucose build up in eh blood and spill into the urine and out of the body.
