Joaquin Cosio Plays Classic Villain in 'Quantum of Solace'

Summary


It might only be a coincidence that during that same year Joaquin Cosio, who 46 years later stars in the newest [James Bond] film "Quantum of Solace," was born in Nayarit, Mexico, but Cosio doesn't believe it was luck. Growing up watching [Sean Connery] and Roger Moore play Agent 007 and falling in love with the series like every other male adolescent in the world, the Mexican actor believes the opportunity to star in a James Bond movie was meant to be.

In "Quantum of Solace," Cosio plays General Medrano, an exiled political figure who, according to Cosio, is a "classic villain that makes up the James Bond franchise."

Starting in my adolescence, James Bond has been part of my life. I remember watching all the films of Sean Connery. The current saga starting with "Casino Royale" interested me. I feel in this new series the characters are more real. It has a new realistic tone.
