Jackson Starts Pro Arte Season with Sanders Theater Concert

Summary

After intermission, [Ursula Oppens] returned for the world premiere of "Sala luminosa" by Amy Williams (b. 1969), a pianist and composer on the faculty of Northwestern University. There is, however, at one point a most engaging duet for two contrabasses, one bowed and the other plucked. The piano spends much of the time providing trills and filigree at the very top of the keyboard.
