J Spot; Que Viva!

Summary

Speaking of sublime weirdness, Lehra Gordon (of Chopper Sick Balls and Plook) and Andy Primm (of many other bands, and Plook), have collaborated on a new short film, Lehra's Haircut, which they'll premiere this week. I am one of the lucky few who was allowed a sneak preview. Let's just say, it's a freakin' funny project and clearly a labor of love. Or at a least labor of goofiness--Lehra's Haircut doesn't contain any deep artistic statements but, in 11 short minutes, it provides some clever moviemaking and a lot of giggles. Plus the soundtrack--consisting of Primm's Ween-like circus-evoking dollops of notes and song snippets, and "Molly Ringwald," the song that rolls over the credits--is awesome. To catch this "thrilling and provacative commentary on modern life," as Primm recently described it, attend the screening tomorrow.
