Isaac Delgado: hail the conquering hero.

Issac Delgado is a man caught up in his own history. An anomaly, if you will. It's difficult to classify him. He is often referred to as a "salsa singer," even though most hard-core salseros would disagree with said categorization. Others have tagged him a "sonero," but we all know that in this country (the U.S.A.), the term "sonero" has lost its original meaning and has nothing to do with the Cuban son genre, and that it is now used, instead, to measure the prowess of a singer while improvising on a theme (which, by the way, comes out of the son tradition). Issac Delgado does possess this gift, as he is, in fact, a master of improvisation. But is he a sonero? Or a salsero for that matter?
