WHILE INTERNAL AUDITORS CLEARLY PROVIDE a vital service to their organizations, stakeholders may not always appreciate the profession's value. They might have only a limited understanding of what internal auditing does or fail to see the numerous benefits an effective audit function can offer. In many instances, the board of directors, senior management, and company employees need to be educated about the critical roles and unique services that internal auditors perform.
