Scott discusses the drastic increase of health care costs in US prisons, which according to the Labor Research Association are rising to as high as 15% this year. He cites several reasons why health care costs have continued to rise, where one of which is that the medical program has been clinically underdeveloped and never had strong medical administrative leadership. Inmate Health Care

In the United States there is only one group of people with guaranteed access to adequate health care- the nation's 1.6 million prison and jail inmates. The cost of providing this care is significant. And stricter laws are increasing the inmate population, not to mention health costs that on average are rising as high as 15% this year according to the Labor Research Association.
