Information superiority in warfare.

As of lately, problems of information warfare (IW), its essence and substance in present and future combat operations and battles, are regularly discussed in the periodical press. (1) It is noteworthy that various authors define information superiority primarily as achievement and preservation of supremacy in the information sphere for purposes of information warfare, without active counteraction on the part of the enemy. The present authors, however, believe that this interpretation of "information superiority" is too abstract, does not disclose the physical essence of the process in question, and therefore does not reveal essential components of information superiority or ways of achieving it.
