Ideas, Information, and Organization: Connecting Information Literacy and Writing

As we continue to celebrate ongoing reports of the positive impact library media specialists have on student achievement, we need to pause and reflect not only on what we do that helps, but also on what else we can do to intensify that effect. With the current focus on writing across the curriculum and the emphasis on schoolwide writing programs, perhaps we should consider adding writing instruction to the learning that takes place in the library media center.
