The International Business Machines (IBM) has agreed to acquire Ilog SA, a French company, for 215 million euros ($340 million). IBM has agreed to pay ten euros for each ordinary share of Ilog and the US dollar equivalent for each Ilog American Depository Share. Ilog SA provides business rules management and systems optimization software. The company develops pre-built software components that help businesses and software vendors streamline their application development processes. IBM makes a wide range of computer products including mainframes and servers, storage systems, and peripherals. Ilog stated that the deal will expand its market reach and help the company realize the full potential of its technologies.
