Starbucks this month became the latest Fortune 500 company to outsource a number of its HR processes, and analysts say the employer's reasons for doing so might bode particularly well for the HR outsourcing industry. Under the deal, Convergys will oversee payroll and HR administration for Starbucks in the US and Canada as well as take over benefits administration for Starbucks' employees in Canada. For Starbucks, the agreement with Convergys enables the coffee retailer to continue growing at an aggressive pace. Starbucks plans to add 10,000 stores in the next four years, which averages out to about seven stores a day.
