Summary


I got a copy of The New York Times on Sunday. Normally, I read it only in the library -- at $5 a copy. I think they have in mind regular readers who live a little higher on the hog.

I've always found The Times fascinating. I've read several books about it, starting out with a biography of Adolph Ochs, father of the modern Times, who in the late 19th century, rescued it from financial and journalistic oblivion. Currently, I'm grinding my way through "City Room," a 2003 book by retired Times managing editor Arthur Gelb.
