How to Measure How Many Drop Out in Arizona

Summary


While few people deny there is a dropout problem, there is plenty of debate on how to measure it. The Annie E. Casey Foundation made Arizona a bottom-dweller with a measurement that relied on census data. The data come from special expanded U.S. Census surveys that ask for social, economic and household information.

The Casey Foundation's Kids Count survey put Arizona's dropout rate at 12 per cent, right down there with Louisiana.
