The RMS ensures uptime by monitoring topology and status of the local and wide area networks. Through use of management tools, an employee can quickly locate a problem, identify the failed part and send out a replacement. Keeping the network running also minimizes plant damage. Equipment costs have been controlled under the RMS because the underlying architecture is designed to combine management and support services for products that work together.
