Nestled in a residential neighborhood along South Seventh Street West, the house is an assisted living facility licensed for 37 beds. "Most of these folks have been out of the state hospital, institutionalized, many times," said Jennings, who manages two other assisted-living facilities in Montana and one in Arizona. The house's funding is cobbled together from residents' Social Security and disability payments, which cover a little less than half the actual costs, he said.
