Home Builders Forecast 2005 Business

Summary


Residential construction activity in 2005 is expected to ease but remain strong, said members of the National Association of Home Builders during a Construction Forecast Conference last week. According to NAHB leaders who attended a semiannual meeting, there is a general optimism in the construction industry concerning economic growth, job growth and controlling inflation well into the next year.

The housing market has been nothing short of phenomenal, especially anything that smacks of homeownership. But the nation's housing market is in the process of reaching its limits and topping out. said NAHB Chief Economist David Seiders following the day of panel discussions and projections.
