"Hollywood is fortunate to have a city manager such as Cameron [Benson] who not only recognizes the importance of arts to a community - and to society - but who also creatively finds ways to fund and integrate arts facilities into the fabric of our city," said City of Hollywood Mayor Mara Giulianti, who is a former recipient of FAM's Service Award for Outstanding Public Official.
Also under Benson's tenure, the City of Hollywood and its Downtown Community Redevelopment Agency matched a $5 million grant from Broward County with an additional $7.9 million to build the area's first ArtsPark. The $17.6 million, 10-acre ArtsPark will contain a new and improved amphitheater, a smaller studio or "black box" theater, new gallery space, children's play area, and a 60-foot wide fountain, besides other amenities.See the full content of this document
