Helen M. Sandhaus, 86, Lancaster, formerly of Hewlett Bay Park and Saranac Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Samuel Regal Newmark and the late Ruth Elizabeth Newman Newmark. She was the wife of the late Harold S. Sandhaus, MD, a Lancaster native.
She was a member of Temple Shaarai Shomayim in Lancaster. Helen was also the sister-in-law of the late Drs. Bea and Julius Sandhaus of Lancaster. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah and also a former president of the League of Woman Voters in New York. She truly personified the eternal optimist.See the full content of this document
