The LEED Silver office building at 1000 Continental Drive is comprised of 200,000 square feet and sits on 5.5 acres. A detailed energy model derived from various areas of the building was utilized to achieve an estimated energy cost savings of 16%. 1000 Continental is also a leader in cutting-edge technology, which benefits both the building management and the tenants. The intelligent building design supports integrated building controls and advanced IT solutions with a fiber-optic system that uses PoE technology. To operate the building sustainably, the management team trained its staff in the green systems and hired vendors well-versed in environmentally conscious waste policies, purchasing and green cleaning.
