In the past two weeks I have been to Tucson (Goldwater Institute, great people), to Dallas-Fort Worth (Richardson School District, great people, and to lecture on speech writing to a huge PR firm, also great people), to Charlotte, North Carolina, to show our son two fine schools, Queens University of Charlotte and Presbyterian College of Clinton, South Carolina (both great people), and thence to Nashville to speak to an amazing software company called Open Solutions (great people), and then to D.C. to speak to a conservative educational group called Fund for American Studies. The airport in Cincinnati is a sprawling nightmare requiring bus rides, moving stairways, and four different buildings to get to the curb. Dinner that night at a fabulous restaurant called Jeff Ruby's, with ice cream from Graeter's- absolutely the most tasty food I have ever had.

Great People

THURSDAY

OOPS. NOT A GREAT DAY. I awakened in Scottsdale at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch Hotel. It's a lovely hotel, but like all Hyatts, a trifle strangely designed. The lobby is immense, sprawling, many floors high. It stretches out into a lovely garden/pool area where cocktails and snacks are served. The rooms where we guests stay radiate out from the lobby.
