Summary
Since it was the very first one, the Nat Hardee Memorial golf tournament could have been a very somber event. Instead, the event held July 14 at Cahoon Plantation Golf Course was a celebration of the late, longtime Deep Creek High principal's life.
The fundraising tournament included a ceremony in honor of Hardee, who died Aug. 9, 2009 at age 69. Ken Tilley of the Virginia High School League presented Nat Hardee's widow, Barbara, with the Torch of Honor, considered the VHSL's highest award.See the full content of this document
