If you are a customer of an electric utility company and participate in the utility's energy conservation program, any rebates or incentives you receive for energy conservation measures from the utility company aren't counted as taxable income. At the Indiana state level there are incentives, including the renewable energy property tax exemption and the residential geothermal heat pump rebate, which is a $1,500 flat rebate (with a $1,500 cap) and affects a single family home with an income of $100,000 or less.
