Government Finance Officers Association - International Horizons
The International Relations Committee of the Government Finance Officers Assn. (GFOA) is committed to initiating and maintaining relationships with their counterpart associations around the world. The body hopes to achieve this goal through such activities as the creation of institutional linkages, promotion of educational exchanges and provision of technical assistance and training to poor countries. The 1994 GFOA conference in Minneapolis, MN, held last Jun. 5 to 8 was conducted in pursuit of the association's international agenda. As the GFOA International Relations Committee is finding, local governments in the United States and Canada share many of the same issues and concerns as local governments in other countries.
