Virtual reality - The Flip Side

Virtual reality machines are often depicted as sophisticated toys and are seldom considered as business tools. Little effort has been made to explore the business applications of this technology, particularly as simulation chambers that senior executives can use to formulate long-term corporate strategic plans. Some business uses of virtual technology are suggested. One is for virtual downsizing. The technology will help CEOs convince their board of directors of the need to streamline the workforce. With virtual reality, directors can get a better view of the organization after a downsizing. Another possible application of the technology in business is in conducting virtual meetings. It will eliminate meetings that drag on and on, as well as the need for people to travel to attend meetings.
