Commissioning a fire alarm panel usually includes starting at some point in the building and testing each device tied into the system, while the AHJ witnesses the test. The AHJ will want to see that the panel is not in trouble and appears to be normal. A systematic walk-through of the building is accomplished, testing devices along the way. AU of the devices tied into the alarm are required to be tested.
