Summary
The lighting and set designers are Rich Simone and Michael Boyer. Seen dancing in the Cinemascope-sized "reels" screened between some of the numbers is Steve Dimse. Coordinating choreographer for the kung-fu sequences is Kathy Cafferty. Not least is bartender and columnist Tom Robinson as the robot, who gives of himself generously in the role of a lifetime. Excellent in an evening of flames is the incandescence of its music, bringing audiences well beyond up-to-date on Storm Large, Zap Mama, the Flaming Lips and Orb, not to mention the classic pull of Tom Waits, Steve Reich, Billy Holiday and Prokofiev's "Romeo and Juliet." The Ganesha Dance Theater is preciously close to the most dynamic dance we've ever seen.
