"My family had been involved in the collection industry for many years prior to me purchasing my own agency," [Matt Laws] said. "Plus, I was looking for a change of lifestyle and wanted to get into business for myself. The only regret I have had in the change of careers is that I did not do it sooner."

"Initially, I was looking for a source to secure solid E&O insurance coverage and receive helpful, basic advice on how to run a successful agency," he said. "But over the years, I have found that ACA has offered so much more and has been an instrumental part to the success of our operation."

"It is absolutely critical that all ACA members get active in public policy and the political process in order to preserve and better the environment in which we conduct business," Laws said. "Being complacent is not an option any longer. You either get involved or reap what you have not sowed."
