Ford will manufacture own destiny, exec says.
Bill Ford, chairman and CEO of Ford Motor Company, announced earlier this year that the automaker would initiate a new North American business plan--The Way Forward. "It's bold and sweeping," Ford says, "and it builds on the innovation-driven vision." Helping to explain the Way Forward has been Mark Fields, Ford executive vice president and president of the Americas. The following is a condensation of remarks delivered by Fields' at the corporation's headquarters.
In many respects, the Way Forward begins right here, among the sketches, clay models, computer workstations, and the designers and engineers.
