Summary
Dawson's Creek paddler Katie Holmes plays Samantha Mackenzie, just itching to get away from mom and dad to enjoy her freshman year at college 3,000 miles away from home. Sam's dad, alas, is U.S. President John Mackenzie (Michael Keaton) in re-election mode, which means living in a big White House near the nation's Beltway and trying not to do anything controversial to jeopardize her old man's campaign. And those pesky Secret Service agents are assigned to protect Big Daddy's little girl at all costs, so there's not much chance of Sam gaining "the freshman 15" from beer-and-pizza frat parties. Sam tries to enjoy a normal life with Mia (hip-hop songbird Amerie), her down-wit-dat roomie (see Fly Girl with Big Attitude document), and it also helps that hunky resident adviser James (Marc Blucas) is just down the hallway (see Nice Guy with Major Secret file folder), aiding her as she sneaks away from the agents and dodges the paparazzi so she can blend in with the surroundings.
