A cigarette was likely the cause of a fire that damaged a wood- frame house occupied by a 1950s Evansville Aces basketball star and his wife.
Both in ill health, John Harrawood, a retired Evansville firefighter in his late 60s, and his wife, JoAnn, in her early 70s, were being treated in an ambulance after a fire that broke out around 7:20 p.m. Friday.
