[Nazih Hazime] said that his Lebanese parents were "nervous at first" about his firefighting, but eventually became proud, "especially when I became chief."

Hazime, who has received awards for service beyond the call of duty on three separate occasions and leads one of the top Fire Departments in the country, with the ability to reach the site of an emergency anywhere in the city in under four minutes, seems to have fulfilled his childhood dream of "just doing what's right, honest, and to work with others."
