Summary
On Mark Southers' handsome set, Jonas Chaney's Maxson is a conglomeration of enormous dreams which, given no outlet, have turned insular and dark. Rita Gregory's performance as his wife, Rose, is a deeply moving portrayal of a woman saved and forever scarred by the man she loves. Ruel Davis, playing Maxson's youngest son, does terrific work as a young man so caught up in his own life he can't even begin to understand the lives of those around him. Jonathan Berry, Kevin Brown and Chuck Timbers, as the older son, brother and friend, respectively, serve as powerful witness to the burst and eventual dimming of the brilliant sun at the center of their lives.
