Steve Yelencsics, co-owner of Raritan Valley Bus Service, an Edison-based operator of 21 diesel-fueled coach buses, says he is paying $1 more a gallon than he was a year ago. Yelencsics adds a fuel surcharge of up to 5% per trip. "We are very competitive," he says, "but we're still getting a lot of flak and the increases aren't covering the additional costs."
