THE CELEBRATIONS that erupted outside the White House and at ground zero after President Barack Obama's announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed have been criticized as unseemly. As someone who shared in the feeling of exhilaration, I would like to believe the celebrations were about much more than the death of a mass murderer.
