What may ring as a familiar tune at this month's Risk and Insurance Management Society Inc annual conference is by no means coincidental. Risk managers converging at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, can expect a renewed emphasis on enterprise risk management (ERM). At least 15 sessions this year are geared toward ERM, following a path taken last year. The underlying continuity at play is deliberate. Janice Ochenkowski, who served as RIMS president until Dec 31, 2008, said the ERM focus was initiated before she took over. The incoming president has placed Ochenkowski in charge of a committee that will focus on the society's international needs and opportunities.
