Educator feature: bringing the CPA vision to life with the Business Activity Model (BAM).

The Business Activity Model (BAM) for teaching intermediate accounting provides a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academe and practice by requiring students to practice the communication and interpersonal skills currently demanded in this profession. BAM also allows educators to successfully expose students to the core values and core competencies stipulated in the CPA vision project. We are especially excited that implementing BAM as a teaching method allows educators to stress the core value of life-long learning, in addition to providing numerous opportunities to emphasize the core values of integrity and objectivity.
