The federal legislation includes $33-6 billion total between 2008 and 2010 for programs to increase energy independence and technology development and raise education standards, according to the House committee. The private-public partnership matched the money from the governors, which will go to the state Education, Labor and Industry, Community and Economic Development, and Environmental Protection departments for STEM initiatives.
