We're especially interested in XIX's special menu of desserts made with beer. Many people turn up their nose at the idea of pairing beer with sweets, but depending on the beer, the combination can be spectacular. Just try Young's Double Chocolate Stout with chocolate cake, for example. Pastry chef Dan Pino has taken it one step further by actually using beer in the desserts, including: coffee mascarpone cream with Brooklyn Brown braised pineapple; a milk chocolate mousse with Red Hook Ale sorbet; and macerated raspberries with Sly Fox's O'Reilly Stout foam sesame powder and shaved dark chocolate.
