Eastmoor Academy Advances to Division Iii State Title Game

Summary

"They're a tremendous football team," Eastmoor coach Jim Miranda said. "Their running game was their biggest asset and we took it away until pretty late, and we played well at the end."

"I'm telling him 'throw the ball,' but he took a gamble and made a play," the coach said. "I let out a big sigh of relief on that one. They looked like they had him behind the line, and that could have killed our field position. But when you have great athletes you like to see them make plays."

"Who would have ever believed that Eastmoor would be playing for a state championship?" Miranda said. "Licking Valley gave us a very tough football game, but in the end I think we showed that we were the more versatile team on the field. I'm so happy for all of the kids, and for them to have the opportunity they have is simply incredible. We still have work to do, but we'll enjoy this one tonight."
