An Owensboro, Ky., police detective is being credited with providing West Virginia law enforcement officers with information that led to the arrest of a Morgantown, W.Va., preacher on child pornography charges.

Owensboro Detective Jim McCarty alerted the Monongalia County, W.Va., Sheriff's Office in April that he had received over the Internet a photograph depicting a young girl engaging in a sexually explicit act from the Rev. Rick Curtis, pastor of Avery United Methodist Church at Morgantown.
