NORFOLK - David Arthur Horner, 65, passed away quietly July 9, 2009. He was born Aug. 10, 1943, in Norfolk to the late Jack H. and Gertrude O. Horner.

David grew up in the Fox Hall community of Norfolk and attended Norview High School. He was retired from civil service, working at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, as a welder and shipfitter. Following his retirement, David continued his career as the owner of Costal Welding and Custom Fabrication. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing and looked forward to striper season. He was a huge NASCAR fan and a member of the Chesapeake Bay Yacht Club. David loved to restore cars and always had a project going. He was a very outgoing person and had many friends.
