M-DPS projects a need for 1,469 new special education and secondary math and science teachers within the next three academic years. With the SUCCEED Florida grant, MDC will launch Project B-ELL to Teacher, an alternative certification program that will recruit new teachers with bachelor's degrees who are English language learners. The program is designed for graduates of accredited oreign institutions who have good English language skills and a bachelor's or advanced decree in non-education fields. Prospective students must meet MDC admission requirements.
