The Grad Challenge entails 25 hours of experience doing "something you've always dreamed of doing," as this senior puts it, and a six- to 12-page paper detailing the results. [Hannah Solomon] passed the 25-hour mark long ago. The logistics of the project "are still kind of amazing to me," she admits. She viewed "at least 10 or 15 other films" before making her choices. She wrote letters to "distributors and filmmakers I'd never met before" to secure rights to show the films for educational purposes. She got to meet one director, CVU graduate Theodore Braun, at a showing of his film Darfur Now at the Roxy in December. Ken Peck, of the Roxy's Key Sunday Cinema Club, served as her community consultant.
