Summary


Everybody knows water in the desert is in limited supply. Arizona is trying to do the best it can with what it has, and right now the state's doing well enough to put a little aside.

A portion of the desert's most vital resource is allotted yearly to Arizona from the Colorado River, guaranteed by the Colorado River Compact of 1922. Right now, the Arizona receives more water than it consumes. However, according to experts, the era of water surplus is coming to an end.
