Follow-up is extremely important in the credit and collection industry. "If you're consistent and they keep hearing from you, you're going to get positive results," [Vickie Diener] said.

Diener also tries to make her customers laugh. For example, when she asks customers how they are doing and they respond with the same question, she often says, "I'd be better if I had a check from you." Diener noted she often gets a laugh in response.

Diener's work philosophies have been key to her success in the industry. Because MECC is an insurance carrier that has an ongoing relationship with insurance brokers and agents who fulfill customer needs, it's important she satisfies both the customer and the insurance agent. Having a positive attitude, listening, being consistent and being creative are a few of the ways she maintains these relationships.
