Chinese leaders realize those legal shortcomings must be fixed not because of complaints from American companies but because 85% of lawsuits in China are filed by Chinese companies against other Chinese manufacturers. Unlike Japan or Korea, which have signature international products, Toyota or Toshiba China today is largely a job shop for foreign companies.
