WHITE POST - Charles Calvert "Chick" Abeles of Farnley, White Post, Va., died Jan. 9, 2011. Mr. Abeles was born Nov. 3, 1929 in Norfolk, son of the late Charles Taussig Abeles and Sally Pope Taylor Abeles. His education included Granby School, 1945; Milton Academy, 1948; Harvard University, 1952; Virginia School of Law, 1958; Virginia Law Review; Order of the Coif; and Raven Society. He was also a U.S. Navy lieutenant (jg) 1952-1955.
During his career, he was an associate with Hogan & Hartson, 1958- 1961; partner, Lichtman, Abeles, Anker and Nagle, 1969-1977; partner, Wald, Harkrader & Ross, 1977-1986, partner, Piper and Marbury, 1986 until retirement, 1996.
