Cavs' Shannon Brown Takes Advantage of Minutes

Summary

Second-year guard Shannon Brown has had a hard time working his way into the playing rotation, but this month he has averaged 9.4 points and 19 minutes in eight games. Brown competed in only three of the Cavs' first 17 games of the season, where he averaged 5.3 points per contest.

After receiving five minutes of play and scoring five points against Boston on Dec. 2, Brown scored double-digits in his next three games. From Dec. 4-8, Brown averaged 16 points per game on 47 percent shooting. Brown's best performance came in a 100-79 loss to New Jersey on Dec. 4, when he had his first 20-point night in the NBA.

The L.A. Lakers expect Andrew Bynum to continue the legacy of great centers that the franchise is known for. The third-year center is averaging 12.5 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks. His second half of December has been pleasing. From Dec. 2 to Dec. 13 Bynum averaged 9.5 points and 9.7 rebounds in four games. Bynum's numbers rose from Dec. 14-25 as he posted averages of 17.8 points and 11 rebounds in seven games.
